Wilderness Lectures Tickets

The Wilderness Lectures is a winter series of public lectures at the University of Bristol in the Chemistry Theatre, the theme of which is world-wide adventure. The lecturers are well known explorers, mountaineers, travel writers, TV and adventure sports personalities or anyone who has an epic story to tell and can entertain the audience with a good story, with the talks themselves usually including slides and/or film.Change of venueAll lectures will take place at The Mackinnon Theatre, 1522 Performing Arts Centre, Bristol Grammar School, Elton Road BS8 1SJ.Except the following lectures:Lecture 02 23/10/19 Jeremy Hunter: The Great Hall, Bristol Grammar School, Elton Road BS8 1SJ.Lecture 12 18/03/20 Helen Sharman: The Anson Rooms, University of Bristol Students Union, Queens Road, Bristol BS8 1LN.Please note:Concession rates apply to Students, children Under 16, the over 60`s and people with a disability.Covid-19 UpdateHelen Sharman lecture: 18th March 2020:We have spoken to Helen and this lecture is going ahead unless we are compelled to cancel by the Authorities. If so, our intention will be to negotiate an alternative date with Helen in our next season and to honour all existing tickets at that event.Although we are normally happy to refund tickets for people who notify us in advance that they are unable to attend, we regret that in this instance we are unable to do so because of our fixed costs.Peter Habeler lecture: 1st April 2020:We very much regret that Peter has told us, understandably, that he is unwilling to risk travelling from Austria in the current circumstances. We are in the process of negotiating an alternative date with him in our next season and will honour all existing tickets at that event. As a result, we will not be offering refunds at this stage. If you hold tickets for this lecture, please donโ€™t lose them.End of season:Because of Covid-19, the Helen Sharman lecture will be the close of our 2019/20 season and we will hold our annual prize draw at this event.
