Walks Around Keswick
Walks around Keswick in the Lake District in a series of maps from Footprint covering popular hiking areas of Britain. 16 walks, from one to over 10 miles long, are presented on panels at 1:12,500 (5″ to 1 mile) for shorter walks and 1:25,000 (2ยฝ” to 1 mile) for the longer ones. 15 of the walks are circular routes, plus a climb from the Latrigg car park to the top of Skiddaw. Also provided is a small street plan of Keswick indicating car parks, public toilets, etc. Each title in the Footprint series presents several routes within easy reach of one base. The walks include easy strolls and keep to well-used tracks and public footpaths. Each walk is presented on its own panel which can be viewed with the whole map refolded and placed in its plastic sleeve for protection. The walks are clearly highlighted on contoured maps, indicate sections where the path is indistinct on the ground, and have one or half mile markings. Symbols indicate local facilities such as pubs, youth hostels or car parks. Printed along side the map are route directions. Most titles also provide useful addresses of tourist information centres, youth hostels and other relevant organizations and, where appropriate, include a small street plan of the main town in the area covered by it.
