USA: Map Maps Long-Distance Cross-Country Touring Routes

Five routes across the USA: along the Atlantic or the Pacific coasts, east-west across the northern or the southern states, plus Route 66 on maps published by the San Francisco-based Mad Maps. The maps, printed on light, waterproof and tear-resistant synthetic paper, are double-sided and provide in each title a general overview map of the whole route plus more detailed panels breaking it into shorter stages. In each panel the route is highlighted across the network of local roads and cross-referenced to the accompanying lists of roadside attractions and facilities.PLEASE NOTE:The series is currently being revised. Originally produced in cooperation with Harley-Davidson, the four maps crossing the country east-west and north-south have information on Harley-Davidson dealers and Best Western Hotels, all with addresses and phone numbers. Also provided is information on the types of scenery along the route, road characteristics and route instructions with stage-by-stage mileage. The maps also give information on motorcycle laws in each state, indicating helmet and eye protection requirements.In the current edition of the Route 66 map the association with Harley-Davidson and Best Western hotels has been dropped. The map still provides detailed stage-by-stage driving instructions and mileages, plus lists of roadside attractions, great outdoors sites and roadhouse. No accommodation information is included. We have no information whether future editions of the remaining four titles will be revised along the same lines.
