A collection of short stories, set in the dark recesses of Edinburgh`s low-life in the late 1980’™s, telling a trippy tale of a group of friends who use heroin, and of relationships they develop among themselves, with friends and with people who engage in other destructive behaviours. The collection describes the lives of the leading characters: the protagonist Mark Renton who attempts to give up the heroin habit that is affecting his relationship with family and friends; Sick Boy – a promiscuous con artist, a Sean Connery wannabe, and Renton’™s oldest friend; Spud – naรฏve, childlike and the whipping boy that the circle feels protective of; and other interesting individuals, among whom we meet a 14-year old girlfriend or a clean-cut athlete who doesn’™t do drugs but is curious about them.Written with explosive energy that will make you laugh right in the dark places it takes you to!”Choose us.
