Snowdonia Ridges
Steve Ashton’s Cicerone guide to the Ridges of Snowdonia details some of the best ridge-walking in this wild and beautiful part of north Wales. Once described as the ‘only purely philosophical guide to hill-walking”, the guide is a unique combination of route description and exploration of the hill-walking experience that has stood the test of time. Routes over the Carneddau, Gyders, Snowdon group, Moelwyns, Nantlle, Rhinogs, Arans and Cader Idris are all detailed with information such as distance, terrain and seasonal difficulties all provided. There are 12 main ridge descriptions with many variants as well as the 14 peak Snowdon traverse. Detailed route descriptions are accompanied by colour Ordnance survey inserts mapping the route as well as colour photographs which illustrate some of the highlights of the walks.
