Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park in a series of brightly coloured maps of Tanzania’s national parks and conservation areas in Maco Editions` characteristic hand-drawn style of cartography. The maps include plenty of tourist information and enlargements for the most visited areas and hiking routes, with many titles providing a vivid picture of the changes to the terrain and vegetation during the dry and the wet seasons. The maps are illustrated in the margins with beautiful drawings of local flora and/or fauna and animal footprints for easy identification.*In this title:* one side the park is drawn during the dry season, with enlargements for the Seronera and Lobo areas, indicating various types of terrain and vegetation: gorges, rivers and dried river beds, soda lakes, hippo pools, woodland, different types of grassland, etc. The map shows local roads and seasonal tracks, entry gates, park lodges and campsites. No geographical coordinates are given.On the reverse side the park is presented in the wet season, indicating changes in the terrain and vegetation. A series of insets show patterns of animal migration in the region month by month. The map is illustrated with numerous beautiful drawings of local trees with examples of their leaves or small branches for easy identification. Also included are drawings of footprints of animals found in the park, from porcupines and dikdiks, to hippos and elephants.
