Riis: Stages of Light and Dark

Riis is the courageous autobiography of Danish cycling legend Bjarne Riis, who in 1996 won the Tour de France, only to call a press conference eleven years later in which he confessed to having taken performance-enhancing drugs in order to achieve that triumph. Already an acclaimed bestseller in Denmark and Germany, Riis sees this intensely private Dane baring his soul in a book which describes his transition from shy young daydreamer to hardened, regular user of the banned substance EPO.
