Pacific Coast Route: Seattle to San Diego

Pacific Coast Route from Seattle to San Diego in a series of five maps covering motorcycle routes across the USA: along the Atlantic or the Pacific coasts, east-west across the northern or the southern states, and Route 66, produced in cooperation with Harley-Davidson and filled with extensive tourist information. The maps, printed on light, waterproof and tear-resistant plastic paper, are double-sided and provide in each title a more general overview map of the whole route plus several more detailed panels breaking it into shorter stages. Each panel highlights the route across the network of local roads and is overprinted with colour-coded numbers indicating places to visit, Harley-Davidson dealers and Best Western hotels, all with addresses and phone numbers. Also provided is information on the types of scenery along the route, road characteristics and driving instructions with stage by stage mileage. The maps also give information on motorcycle laws in each state, indicating helmet and eye protection requirements.*In this title:* the route is presented in seven stages and rather than just following the coast its first three stages meander across Washington State and Oregon, encircling the Olympic National Park and then moving to the interior and Mount Rainier, with the same pattern followed across Oregon. After crossing into California and a ride across the Redwood NP, the route moves closer to the coast, arriving in San Francisco via the Napa Valley and then follows the famous Highway 1 along the Pacific. From Santa Barbara it veers east to the mountains surrounding the LA conurbation and finishes in San Diego.
