Old Folding Maps Reproductions of Historical Maps

Old maps from late 18th and 19th century reproduced by the Old Folding Maps company and mounted on cloth. Each individual map is presented folded in a colourful case covered with a unique design marbled paper โ€“ no two cases are identical.Many of the reproductions have been taken from what used to be called โ€œcloth-dissectedโ€ maps, made when the map itself was cut into sections and each section then individually pasted onto an overall cloth backing for the whole map. In these reproductions the whole map is backed onto cloth in one piece, but the gaps between the sections have been reproduced in the printing to preserve the style and the feeling of the originals.Cartography varies according to the original source; more details and images are provided with each title.
