Cappelen’™s Road Atlas of Norway in a slightly larger than A4 spiral-bound format, with street plans of 75 town centres, an enlargement for the greater Oslo area, and an extensive index of over 40,000 place names, including national parks, mountain ranges, peaks and other geographical features.Subtle hill-shading with spot heights and names of numerous peaks and mountain ranges, plus colouring to show glaciers and forested areas present the country’™s topography. National parks are highlighted. Road network includes minor local roads and cart tracks and indicates toll roads, seasonal winter closures, roads closed to the general public, steep gradients and bends, etc. In northern Troms and Finnmark approved snow scooter tracts are included. Railways are shown with stations and stops and ferry routes are marked. The maps also indicate internal administrative boundaries with names of the communes.Overprint highlights selected waymarked hiking trails, indicating approximate walking time. Symbols indicate a wide range of accommodation including, hotels, motels, guest houses, campsites rated according to facilities provided there, youth hostels, cabins, mountain huts, etc. Also highlighted are various places of interest, bird colonies, viewpoints, golf courses, open air swimming pools, etc. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 15’™ and 30’™ intervals respectively. The atlas has an extensive index of over 40,000 place names, including national parks, mountain ranges, peaks and other geographical features.Street plans at varying scales show 75 town centres, annotated with accommodation, tourist information offices, places of interest and various facilities. The plans indicate one way streets and show selected house numbers for easier identification of addresses. Two maps printed on the inside covers show Oslo’™s public transport network. Map legends for both the main section and the street plans include English.
