New York City with Bicycle Routes Wall Map from the Future Map Company, a beautifully crafted, high quality wall map of the city printed on silk-finish paper with a carefully chosen palette of glossy colours in the forest – orange – pewter hues. The size is 100 x 130 cm / 51″ x 39.5″ approx. This 001 encapsulated version is one of the two presentations of the city (the other is in aqua – champagne – apple), each available either on paper or encapsulated for greater durability and addition of any customized notes.The maps cover most of the five boroughs and the New Jersey shore of the Hudson, showing names of districts, streets, squares, parks, subway and railway stations, etc. A unique feature of the maps is the highlighting of New York’™s cycle routes, indicating protected or shared lanes, dirt paths or trails and, where appropriate, the direction of travel. The city’™s iconic buildings are highlighted by small drawings. The maps are printed on medium weight silk-finish paper.LAMINATED and ENCAPSULATED WALL MAPS:- LAMINATED wall maps have a thin layer of plastic usually applied to the printed side only. They can be written on with suitable marker pens without any damage to the map but, unless laminated on both sides, they are not damp-proof.- ENCAPSULATED wall maps are sealed between two sheets of plastic. They are more rigid and heavier than laminated maps of the same size. They are damp-proof and do not crinkle in humid conditions. Encapsulation gives the map a shiny surface, similar to being displayed behind glass.- PLEASE NOTE: many publishers and retailers often use these two terms interchangeably.
