Detailed topographic map of the Koh-e-Keshnikhan massif and the surrounding valleys in the Hindu Kush panhandle of Afghanistan, compiled by the Austrian Scientific Expedition in the Wakhan in 1970. Topography is shown by contours at 20m intervals, relief shading and spot heights, with rivers and streams, lakes and irrigation canals. Colouring and graphics indicate different types of vegetation (trees or shrubbery, meadows and fields, alpine pastures, etc.) and soil cover (rocky outcrops, scree and boulders, open crevasses and ice walls, etc.). Roads, footpaths, telephone lines and individual buildings are marked.The map has latitude and longitude margin ticks at 2` intervals. Map legend and all other information are in English and German.
