Instructions for Servicemen (Historical Reproductions)

This wonderful series recreates, exactly as they were, cultural guides that were given to servicemen serving overseas during the Second World War. As well as proving to valuable documents of what life was like for those serving during the War, they also act as a sometimes hilarious, but wonderfully astute, look into the relationships between countries during this turbulent time in world history, and the stereotypes that prevailed at the time.Since 1602 the Bodleian Library has been preserving the written heritage of the world; its publications bring this heritage to you, and this series is no exception.
