Frampton Cotterill & Coaplt Heath

This fascinating collection of over 200 images of Frampton Cotterell and Coalpit Heath has been compiled using photographs from the archives of the Frampton Cotterell and District Local History Society and from local resident`s personal collections. As well as providing a photographic record of village street scenes and buildings this compilation also gives an insight into the everyday life of the people who have lived, worked and played in the area since the end of the nineteenth century. The pictures include class groups of all the local schools, neighbourhood shops and merchants, organizations and groups, tradesmen and industry and a section on the now defunct coalmines. Each image is accompanied by an informative caption, bringing the past to life and describing aspects of life in historic hamlets such as Brockeridge, Frampton Common, Goose Green, Adams Land and North Corner.
