An introduction provides the walker with practical information and advice on what to wear, equipment, weather, staying safe, coping with emergencies and useful tips to help you plan your stay in the mountains.The guide features a wide range of walks, all summits as well as some less well known routes, from moderate to strenuous and between 6 an d 13 miles long, many suitable for fell running, with options to suit both first-time and more experienced walkers offering a taste of the Pennines for everyone. The walks are grouped into five regions, North Pennines, the North West Dales, the Yorkshire Dales, the South Pennines and the Dark Peak. Each one is presented with a box containing key information: distance, height gain, time, grade, start point and maps required, as well as 1 :40,000 OS map extract showing the path, colour photographs, and suggestions for refreshments at the end of the walk.
