The Urban Cookbook – Creative Recipes for the Graffiti Generation
“The Urban Cookbook” is an indepth investigation into five great cities where the street sets the creative agenda: New York, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam and London. After a general introduction, King Adz tells the story of his trip to each of the five cities, takes the reader on a walk around neighbourhoods that buzz with street life, where the best food can be found, and talks to the keenest creative talents photographers, illustrators, designers, graphic and graffiti artists, skaters, DJs, club owners, musicians, talent scouts and internet entrepreneurs. Then he offers eight recipes from which to cook up dishes that he ate on the streets of the city, and detailed descriptions of their work by a couple of his talents anything from Rodney Smiths skate products to Miss Blackbirdys original fashions, Tristan Eatons vinyl toys and Jonathan Olleys pukka photos. The result is a feast of a wholly original kind, born out of the edgy rugged culture of the street.
