Blackwater and Chelmer 1886
Blackwater and Chelmer in 1886 in a series of reproductions of Ordnance Survey’s famous “Inch to the Mile” maps published in the Alan Godfrey Editions to provide a historical record of England and Wales in the second half of 19th and early 20th century.The map covers the area of west Essex from Chelmsford eastward to the River Blackwater and from Witham southward to the Hanningfields. Other locations on the map include Asheldham, Boreham, Broomfield, Danbury, East Hanningfield, Fairsted, Faulkbourne, Goldhanger, Great Baddow, Great Totham, Great Waltham, Great Wigborough, Hatfield Peverel, Heybridge, Inworth, Langford, Latchingdon & Snoreham, Layer Marney, Little Baddow, Little Braxted, Little Leighs, Little Totham, Little Waltham, Maldon, Mayland, Mundon, Purleigh, Salcott, Sandon, Southminster, Springfield, St Lawrence, Steeple, Stow Maries, Terling,Tiptree, Tollesbury, Tolleshunt D`Arcy, Tolleshunt Knights, Tolleshunt Major or Beckingham, West Hanningfield, White Notley, Wickham Bishops, Widford, Wirley, Woodham Ferrers, Woodham Mortimer and Woodham Walter.
