Western & Northern Canada ITMB Travel Atlas
Western and Northern Canada Travel Atlas from the Vancouver-based ITMB, presenting each province separately and accompanied, where appropriate, by street plans of main towns. The atlas combines the publishers’ separate folded road maps into an A5, paperback format.Road network includes selected local tracks and seasonal/winter roads, gives distances on main routes, indicates border crossings from USA, and in the remove areas shows locations of fuel supplies. Railway lines are included and domestic airports or airfields are marked. A wide range of symbols indicate various facilities and places of interest, including campgrounds, lodges, recreational areas, etc. The street plans also highlight various facilities and places of interest, including selected hotels.Topography is shown by altitude colouring – please note that the grading of colouring into different altitudes is not consistent throughout the atlas but as indicated for each province on pages ii and iii. The maps have plenty of names of mountain ranges, plateaux and other geographical features, with peaks heights given in metres. National or provincial parks and other protected areas are prominently highlighted. The pages have latitude and longitude lines and the atlas is indexed. The atlas covers:- British Columbia at 1:1,560,000 with street plans of downtown Vancouver, Victoria and Whistler Village- Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Yukon at 1:1,250,000 with street plans of central Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Dawson City, Whitehorse and Watson Lake- Northwest Territories at 1:2,150,000 with a street plan of Yellowknife- Nunavut at 1:3,050,000 (Baffin Island is at 1:6,780,000 with place names in very small print size)
