United States NGS Classic Wall Map ENCAPSULATED

United States NGS Classic Style Wall Map in the *standard 111 x 78cm / 43″ x 30″ size, encapsulated version* with white background with relief shading for mountains, state boundaries in colour, and the surrounding seas in light blue. The map shows the administrative division of the country, with states boundaries picked out in different colours. Town symbols indicate state capitals. Road network gives numbers of interstate highways and main state roads. Relief shading used to show the Appalachians and the Rockies stands out strongly on the plain white base map. Additional graphics and/or colouring are used to indicate deserts, swamps, etc, and principal national or state parks and forests. Rivers, mountain chains, plateaux and numerous other geographical features are named. Peak heights are given in feet. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at intervals of 3ยฐ.* This size is also available in a paper version.* The same design is also available in two larger sizes: 178 x 125cm (70″ x 49″), available either on paper or encapsulated, plus as a 3-sheet paper set with the overall size of 280 x 193cm (110″ x 76″). *LAMINATED and ENCAPSULATED WALL MAPS:*- *laminated* wall maps have a thin layer of plastic usually applied to the printed side only. They can be written on with suitable marker pens without any damage to the map but, unless laminated on both sides, they are not damp-proof.- *encapsulated* wall maps are sealed between two sheets of plastic. They are more rigid and heavier than laminated maps of the same size. They are damp-proof and do not crinkle in humid conditions. Encapsulation gives the map a shiny surface, similar to being displayed behind glass.- *please note:* many publishers and retailers often use these two terms interchangeably.
