The Thames Valley – On Your Bike
On Your Bike – the Thames Valley features twenty circular rides, of from 8 to 30 miles each, between the Upper Thames and Maidenhead. The longest of cycle routes is not expected to take more than 5 hours, including time spent exploring. Each route description contains details of how to get to the start, where to park your bike or car, and where to find good lunch and tea stops. Among other places that the itineraries take you through are the Cotswold Water Park – home to 40 different species of wildfowl, Blenheim Palace, William Morris’s one time home of Kelmscott Manor, the haunted ruins of a Benedictine nunnery and a large scale model village depicting 1930s and 1940s Britain.
