The Danube – A River Guide

This book is a reprint of the original edition, first published in 1991.The Danube – a River Guide- is the result of experienced yachtsman Rod Heikell`s two journeys down the river from its source in southern Germany to the Black Sea, the first by public transport, the second in Rozinante – a 17ft motorsailor equipped especially for the voyage. The guide contains essential information on geography, history, navigation, travelling on the Danube and public transport. There is also a useful country by country guide to formalities and customs. The bulk of the book forms a kilometre by kilometre guide for use by navigators and other travellers. These sections are supported by clear mapping and contain notes about features and places en route. There is a detailed appendix covering further reading, facilities for navigators, useful addresses and a diary of Rozinante`s voyage.
