Road map at 1:700,000 from Hema covering the south-western corner of Western Australia centered on Perth, plus enlargements showing most visited regions in greater detail and accompanied by recommendations of best places of interest and colour photos, plus an index of wineries, a table of facilities in the region’s national parks, etc.Coverage along the western coast extends north of Perth to well beyond Green Head and the Beekeepers Nature Reserve, and along the southern coastline beyond Albany to Cheyne Bay. Presentation of the road network shows, where appropriate, highway names (Muir Hwy, Great Southern Hwy, etc), differentiates between tarred or unsealed roads and between tracks or rough tracks, and gives driving distances on main and many connecting routes. Symbols indicate 24hrs fuel supplies, different types of rest areas, bush camping sites, tourist information offices, etc. Topography is presented by subtle relief shading, with national parks and other protected areas prominently highlighted. The map has latitude and longitude lines at 30’intervals, plus three indexes: towns and localities, points of interest, plus wineries.On the reverse seven areas (as indicated on the main map) are presented on more detailed maps with a much wider range of symbols for accommodation and other tourist facilities. Each panel is accompanied by notes and colour photos recommending the best sights. Also provided is a table showing what facilities can be found in national parks, plus list of contact addresses of accredited information centres.
