Polish and Slovak Tatra Mountains
Polish and Slovak parts of the Tatra Mountains on a hiking map from EKO-GRAF, with a separate map highlighting waymarked routes, a street plan of Zakopane, and an overview road map with access from Krakรณw.The map covers the three main groups of the Tatra Mountains: the High Tatras, Western Tatras with the Rohace chain, plus the eastern Belianskรฉ Tatry in Slovakia. Coverage extends from Poronin and Bukowina, north of Zakopane in Poland to Stary Smokovec and the southern boundary of the Tatra National Park in Slovakia. West/east the map extends from the Sivy Vrch peak and Liptowskรฝ Mikulรกลก to Tatranskรก Lomnica. Contours at 20-m intervals, shading and graphic relief give a very detailed picture of the area’s topography. Numerous peaks, passes, valleys, etc. are named, with Polish or Slovak names used, as appropriate. Borders of the Tatra National Park and various nature reserves within it are marked.Overprint highlights waymarked hiking trails on both sides of the border, including the Tatranska Magistrala, a long-distance route running south of the three chains along the whole length of the map. Also shown are cable car lines and chair lifts, different types of accommodation (hotels, rest houses, mountain huts, youth hostels, campsites, etc.), mountain rescue posts and medical centres, sport and recreational facilities, historical buildings and other places of interest, etc. On local roads bus stops are marked. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 2’ intervals. *Map legend includes English.*On the reverse the main hiking area covered by the map is shown simplified with waymarked routes, indicating walking times in both directions and locations of mountain shelters for overall route planning. Also provided is a street plan of Zakopane showing main streets and access routes to the surrounding villages, plus an overview road map at 1:600,000 of the area between Krakรณw and the Tatra Mountains highlighting interesting towns and resorts.
