Pedaller`s Paradise – New Zealand`s South Island
Pedallers’ Paradise South Island by Nigel Rushton is a cycling guide to New Zealand’s south island. The publication is produced and printed by a small press in New Zealand; hand-made and black and white only but specifically by a local cyclist, for cyclists. Approximately 70 pages of route descriptions feature, grouped into five separate regions of the island ‘“ east, central, south, west and north. Street and arterial maps are included where applicable. Routes described are usually main regional roads on which to cycle. When alternative routes, side trips or link roads are options these are noted in the text. Profiles of routes are included and are intended as rough guides to the terrain; giving distances in kilometres, elevation in metres. In addition, gradient information is provided separately. En-route services, such as information centres, food and refreshment options, accommodation choices (including campsites, hostels, hotels, and WWOOF schemes) and cycle shops, are detailed. Local attractions are also mentioned.
