Peaks of the Balkans Long-Distance Hiking Trail: Albania ‘“ Kosovo ‘“ Montenegro

Peaks of the Balkans, a 192-km long cross-border hiking circuit in the mountains of Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro, on a contoured, GPS compatible map at 1:60,000 with on the reverse detailed notes and route-profiles. The 10-day circuit which starts in Theth in Albania, crosses the wildest and the most untouched mountain range in the Balkans, the Prokletije or the Albanian Alps.The map provides a very vivid picture of the topography with contours at 50m intervals, enhanced by relief shading and colouring for woodlands. Boundaries of national parks and other protected areas are clearly marked. An overprint prominently highlights the course of the Peak of the Balkans long-distance hiking trail, indicating recommended overnight stops. Also marked are other waymarked routes, and symbols indicate accommodation, tourist information centres, viewpoints, climbing areas, etc. The map has both a 1-km UTM grid and latitude and longitude lines at 5โ€™ intervals. Map legend includes English.On the reverse are detailed stage-by-stage descriptions of the route, accompanied by route profiles and GPS waypoints for important locations including turnings or crossroads and accommodation facilities.
