L`Europe 1692: Reproduction of a Sanson/Jaillot Wall Map
Reproduction of a map of Europe originally drawn by Nicolas Sanson, regarded by many as the father of French cartography, and published by Hubert Jaillot in 1692 in his ‘Atlas nouveau”. All place names are in French. It’s interesting to note that the ‘Premier Meridien” goes through Iceland and the boundaries of what are called Allemagne, Italie and Turquie en Europe are not quite historically correct.
