Nesting in the Indian Himalayas north-east of Shimla, Kinnaur forms the easternmost corner of Himchal Padesh and includes Kinnaur Kailash, a mountain sacred both to Hindus and Buddhists.The book is more of an academic study than a travel guide and deals with the various aspects of this remote region, including its geography, history, religious beliefs, culture and festivals, handicrafts, archaeology, etc.
